Bernhardt Cabinetmaker’s Drawer Chest
An 1830 “pillar and scroll” wardrobe, made by the firm of Joseph Meeks & Sons of New York, serves as the design influence for the Cabinetmaker’s Drawer Chest. Meeks & Sons was noted for supplying the markets from Boston to New Orleans with the most expensive, elegant, and durable cabinet work made in America. This drawer chest exemplifies that same spirit with clean lines and an elegant appearance. The rectangular top is made of pin knotty cherry veneers with a quartered cherry veneer border in a Castle Brick finish. Half round carved posts and scrolled feet edge a bank of five drawers that overhang a lower case with six additional drawers, offering an abundance of storage space. - Castle Brick finish Dimensions
